April 28 - Day of Mourning
Posted On: Apr 28, 2021

Local 91 on behalf of the Executive Board, Business Representatives, Staff and Members placed red roses today at the Vincent Massey Park Monument in Ottawa for fallen workers.  Today, April 28 is an important day for sombre reflection to remember those workers who have been injured or killed in the workplace.  Local 91 participated in the virtual ceremony hosted by the Ottawa District Labour Council to remember fallen workers and to call on the legislators for increased mandated safety measures to ensure safer workplaces.

The roses placed on behalf of all Members today serve as a reminder of those we have needlessly lost.  We must continue our fight for the living, our work to ensure every worker goes home safe at the end of their shift for one workplace death or injury is one too many.

Brian MacDonald

President Teamsters Local Union No. 91
