While we continue to navigate an unchartered course during these challenging times, we must protect our past inclusive of the Member's assets entrusted to the Executive Board. Our Members Building was built in 1992 through the efforts and dedication of our Membership. In 2009, President Brian MacDonald made the motion to pay off the existing mortgage years earlier than expected to avoid paying any further mortgage interest. Teamsters Local Union No. 91 saved thousands of dollars as a result. Since 2009, our focus has been on protecting the Members largest asset and continually updating our building to keep up with the times. We have recently installed LED lights inside and out - enjoying cheaper hydro rates, updated our phone system to VOIP - reducing our service costs significantly and just recently repaving the original parking lot. President MacDonald noted, 'our ability to keep our facility current and investment secure is through the strength and pride of our Members. This is our Members home and they deserve to know their largest asset remains protected'.
